Building a website is more intimidating than hard. First you have to have an idea of what you want to build. Look back at the goals section of this site if you are not sure about your goals. Once you
have your goals straight you have to figure out what website builder you want to use. I would suggest you try before you buy several programs. I would suggest after you feel confortable with your favorite program, buy it. Switching between
programs is a pain and different programs write code differently. If you were to switch between programs you might have a big mess cleaning out inconpatable code. Get your boss to pay for it. Tell them it's tax deductable. If they don't want
to shell out 100 % of the money; find the program used on an auction site. Some good site builders are MS Frontpage, NetObject Fusion, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe PageMill. These site builders don't require much HTML knowledge.
Some very good HTML editers are Coffee Cup, HotDog, HotMetal and HomeSite. You can download all of these and more programs at CNet
